fretboard side dots for Carvin dc135

This is for the dc135 which was converted from left->right ages ago, on almost everything except the side dots.

Those are supposed to glow in the dark.

I was always curious about glow in the dark inlays (Luminlays and such)...I hope the glow in the dark technology has improved since we were kids. It would be cool if they stored light for like 4 hours.

I doubt they will glow, from what I've tested. I mean, I left them all evening in the daylight, directly to the sun set, and still not glowing in the dark. Maybe I'll just paint the holes white to make them more visible... in the day.

That would be very cool. Unfortunately, it's closer to 4 minutes.

Wow, 4 minutes isn't a lot. I guess there is no real drive to develop that technology.

painted them a little bit in an attempt to enhance glow in the night (if this ever happens )

Not sure how painting them will enhance the glow if anything it will do the opposite. Looks good anyways.

I mean I painted the sides not the tops. Anyway, this is an old guitar. Looks better without my dioptres

My 2017 Kiesel DC 135 has Luminays and mine glow BRIGHT BLUE at least for an hour or so ( that's as long as I have had mine in a dark stage situation so far). so

Cool, do they need any kind of "charging", and how is it done? Problem with mine they are a little dull, (day or night), I am not a pro, so I can live with those, better than nothing.

Well, an hour isbetter than 4 minutes. If they can do an hour, then certainly longer might be possible at some point.

I didnt even know my new DC 135 had the Luminays until the 1st time I got it on a dark stage. Stays in the case when i'm not playing her so never did anything to intentionally "charge" these.

It is good to get solid info about them, as I never really heard people talking about them.
