After 25 years of changing strings with a pair of vice grips, I decided to fix up the JT-6 bridge on my Charvel 88 Custom. Replaced the bridge string lock screws with with nonstripped/smashed/mutilated replacements from Dave at Frets on the Net. Awesome guy and a great and unique source for custom guitar parts. Go there and spend your money.

Also bought a new whammy bar and retrofit collar. The bridge has been blocked up with a hunk of maple burl since 1990. I now have a working floyd guitar! Haven't used a whammy bar since Matt Pike busted off the arm of this one decades ago- an easy thing to do on the poorly designed JT-6.
If anybody here currently knows Matt, please tell him he owes me $13.50 for the parts.

Sweet! Thanks for the info!

Re: Frets on the Net

Agreed...FretsontheNet has saved me on at least 2 occasions when restoring older guitars with some very rare parts.

Highly recommended!

Re: Frets on the Net

I was thinking about getting some pickup rings from them recently.

I'll pass along the message to Matt, by the way. ;)

Re: Frets on the Net

I checked out the website thanks for sharing. Seems like he has lots to offer and I will definitely use him for a few of the extras when I build my next Warmoth project. Really nice stuff on his site. Thanks again!
