This stomp takes Wampler's "Pinnacle" and stomps all over it, while it calls the BE-OD "Daddy".

Here's some quick n dirty Nuno-age using a '66 Fender Deluxe, mutt strat w SH-5, Suhr Reactive Load and the BE-OD Deluxe (plus a little studio magic):

(pardon the rust)

I’m really big on this pedal. I had cycled through several Amp-In-A-Box pedals over the last 18 months or so (some significantly better than others) and the BE Deluxe just checks all the boxes. With independent channels, dedicated mid controls, low end damping, and internal gain trim pots for each channel, you really can turn any amp with a good clean tone into a 3-channel amp. FWIW, I’m feeding mine into a ‘72 Marshall 50 watt. That particular head has always had warmer, rounder clean tone than you would expect from a non MV Marshall - almost a Fenderish quality? It plays really nicely with the gain structure of the BE Deluxe.

Good to know all of this. I will have to try it out.

I would initially be all over most of the AIB pedals that I tried, but it seemed the longer I played through them - especially at more moderate rehearsal or stage volume - the more ‘artificial’ or ‘solid-statey’ they would sound. That quality is less noticeable at lower bedroom levels. To my ear, the BE-Deluxe had the most organic, natural sounding gain structure of the lot, even when you push the volume.

This is the one that Joyo recently cloned, with their R-03 Uzi isn't it? I've been curious about it.

One that is remarkably touch-sensitive.

For a really touch-sensitive AIB pedal, I still own and just love the Wampler Pinnacle Deluxe. Not as heavy or modern a character as the BE Deluxe. Lots of clarity and articulation. More dynamic and touch sensitive than the BE. The BE-OD Deluxe and Wampler Pinnacle Deluxe are the two AIB pedals I kept and I dig them both.

I will certainly check it out. I don't need it to sound heavy or modern.

I've been wanting to try a Buxom Boost since they came out. Never had a Friedman product but it looks like a great dirty amp driver.
