I'm selling my '08 Gibson Traditional Les Paul in Ice Tea burst. I'v upgraded it with Historic plastic and Gibson Burstbuckers 1 & 2.

Here's a complete list of the upgrades:

Gibson Burstbuckers 1 & 2 (8.1K, 8.6K)

Historic pickup rings

Historic poker chip

Historic truss rod cover

2 gold reflector knobs

2 amber top hat knobs

I've got all of the original plastic including an extra pickguard and an extra set of gold speed knobs.

Original case with white fuzzy lining, tags, manuals, and truss rod wrench included.

There are a couple of blemishes. There are two small scuffs on each side of the headstock, close to the nut. Maybe an el cheapo wall hanger was used before I got it. It also has a spot on the back, right above the electronics cover. I got careless and dropped a glob of soldier on it.

The guitar has been played but has never left my smoke-free house. It has some minor scratches that could probably be buffed out.

On a side note; This guitar has the darkest rosewood fretboard I have ever seen on a Les Paul. I was astonished when I first got it and hurried to GC to compare it to thier stock. It's very, very dark.

Let me know if you want more pics or details.

$1500 shipped & Paypal'd(e-check ONLY)

Insurance NOT included! Buyers option.

Any reason why the strings are looped around the tailpiece? I would think that would affect the intonation.

Are you interested in any trades?

I prefer the look and feel of top-wrapping. I feel it makes heavier strings feel slinkier. Some also may argue that it improves sustain. By cranking the tailpiece all the way down against the body you're getting more string to wood vibration.

The intonation is dead on, I've never had any issues

The only trades I'd be interested in is for a Fender Super Reverb, but right now cash is king.

Topwrapping is fairly common.

Intonation is controlled by the bridge, not the tailpiece.

I top wrap all mine too, IMO it makes the action a little easier with the shallower string angle between the bridge and tailpiece and I also prefer the tone when the tailpiece is all the way down.

Traditional or Traditional Plus? From what I've seen the traditional is solid colors and the T+ is the bursts.

Did this come with '57 classic pups? If so are they still available?

Re: FS - '08 Gibson Les Paul Traditional

It's a Traditional, and yes it came originally with '57 classics.
Sorry, the '57 Classics are long gone, Burstbuckers 1 & 2 now.
