FS-1978 Ibanez 2630 Semihollow

Re: FS-1978 Ibanez 2630 Semihollow

It is almost as cool as my 74 LP copy.

This is the reason why I'll never enjoy what I just bought, because right after I get something new someone reminds me that I keep forgetting about these old Ibanez everytime I have the money to get one.

Hows the action?

Pretty low and slinky feeling. I run that thing with 9s over my usual 10s. I just like it that way.

Just run it over to Paul Gilbert.

I am sure he will take it.

That bastard is singlehandedly driving up the prices! Just kidding. I've had 4 old Ibanez's: this, a Rocket Roll 2, a Rocket Roll Sr, and a Ventura setneck Ripper bass copy. They've all been killer, but have moved on for various reasons, including the bass being stolen years ago.

I'm really only selling it for 2 reasons: I never plug it in and the tiny 335 style cutaways get in my way up high. I might go for a later version like a Scofield or something a little further down the road...they've got better cutaways, and I'm not particularly fond of the Flying Fingers pickups. They're actually pretty beefy, but I like a little more mids and low in the bridge position, and if I change them out, that ruins the value of the guitar.

Well, maaaayybe 3 reasons...I've got to get that Hamer Korina Vector deposit paid and the order in, pronto!

still has almost 7 days left and it's in the $800-$900 range...crazy (beware the 0 feedback bidders though! :) )

Defintly! I would definitly go and cancel that zero feedback bid and block all bidders with less than 3 feedback( i think you can do that, Ive done that Im prety sure already). Good eye Capo!
