FS: 1980's Dean Hollywood Z w/ DiMarzios

TheLivingDead

Dawn Of The Shred
Lookin' to add another guitar to my collection, so one's gotta go. This would be that one.

  • Korean made in the early 80's
  • What I believe to be an alder body
  • Bolt-on 24 fret maple neck with rosewood fingerboard (frets are in great shape)
  • Mini 3-way toggle - Volume - Tone
  • DiMarzio PAF Pro in the neck, DiMarzio Tone Zone in the bridge (both white) with new DiMarzio pickup rings
  • Accutrem
  • Brand new white speed knobs
  • Deep red finish with a hint of sparkle
  • Original 3x3 chrome tuners

I've got it setup for 9-42 with medium action. In the pics I re-installed the locking nut just for completeness but it's so much better without it. Stays in tune just fine without it.

Something's funky with the volume pot. It always stays on; can't get it to cut out. All the electronics/wires are aftermarket as you'll see in the pic below. I'm not certain what everything is though.

The guitar has been played! The finish looks great but there are two sizable dings and a scratch near the tone and headstock. These are displayed in the pics below.

Bridge is fully functional and surprisingly very clean. Not a bit of rust or corrosion. No stripped screws. Trem arm that comes with the bridge is not original and is a very tight fit. It works though.

The neck is in amazing shape. I can only find one scratch on the back of it and it's barely noticeable. The finish still feels brand new. The fretboard isn't dry and is healthy with no cracks. Frets have plenty of life left. Feels like a slightly skinnier C strat neck.

The guitar is made for metal... It's all I've been playing on it. But with another guitar on the way coupled with me never truly bonding with it means it's time for a new home. She'll make someone happy, I'm sure.

$250 OBO shipped in the CONUS/lower 48. I accept paypal for payment, just add 3% or gift. I will ship via USPS Ground with full insurance and tracking. The neck will be removed prior to shipping so there's less chance of damage in shipping and I can get it into a smaller/tighter, well packed box.

Any questions or interest, just shoot me a PM. Thanks!

- Joe M.

Not then, but they are known as Baby Z's nowadays. The Hollywood series introduced a few new shapes to the Dean line.
