Man, I've been A/B-ing my Valveking with the Special, and it's a tough call, but I'm gonna' let my Special go. It's a 1982 Peavey Special Solo Series, almost identical to the more popular Peavey Special 130. It's got a 200w 8ohm Scorpion speaker, Accutronics reverb tank, and the cab/tolex is in great condition. There's one slight tear in the tolex on one of the sides, but other than that, you wouldn't guess it was over 20 years old. As far as sound, this baby has the richest, fullest clean sound I've ever heard. I used to have an old 50's Sears/Roebuck Silvertone 9075 5 watt tube amp, and this sounds way better clean. As far as the overdrive(because it's definitely not distortion) goes, it's really creamy and bluesy, and it goes right up to AC/DC and Black Sabbath, and if you have hot pups you could manage some early Ozzy, but it really doesn't do modern metal. I don't have the original footswitch, but any stereo tip/two button footswitch will work, I used the Valveking footswitch one day and it worked, it switches between normal gain/overdrive gain, and has a reverb defeat. I'm asking $100 plus shipping. PM me with any questions or offers, and I'll see if I can't borrow the GF's camera and get some pictures.
