2003 Epiphone Les Paul Junior (original owner) in silver with a black pickguard (Oakland Raider fans, this is for you!) that I have made the following upgrades to:
Pigtail aluminum wraparound bridge (with adjustable saddles that can be intonated)
Pigtail bridge studs, because the Pigtail bridge wouldn't fit the original studs snugly
Schaller M6 3+3 tuning machines
Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates humbucker
The upgraded bridge and tuners made a world of difference in intonation & tuning stability. According to my fishing scale it weighs 7.98 pounds.
All in all I've put $235 in parts alone to upgrade the guitar...looking to get $225 shipped, PayPal.
A few things I want to point out to make sure they're known depending on how clear things can be seen in the pictures:
1) On the back of the headstock I filled in the screw holes from the old tuners with toothpicks that I glued in, then tried to sand down to make more close to flush with the headstock. This resulted in some light scratching around the old tuner holes. I painted the toothpicks with silver marker to try to approximate the original finish. Somebody more particular could probably sand these areas and refinish it to make it more uniform.
2) There is a chip out of the nut, near the low E string. I have indicated it by arrows on the closeup picture of the nut- the chip is as wide as the space between the arrows. I didn't notice it affecting tuning stability or playing, but it is worth mentioning since it is so close to where the string rests. I have no idea how it happened; I just noticed it was there one day several months ago.
3) The frets are in excellent shape and it is hard to see signs of wear.
4) There are some blemishes on the top of the headstock, the rear or the headstock, and front and rear of the body. Most of these have been marked with arrows in the picture.
5) Sometimes the high E string seems to buzz when you pick it (not fret buzz)....I only notice it when it is unplugged, and only occasionally, but I wanted to mention it anyway.
The only thing that gives me pause about listing this is it seems like I have to tune it more than I think I should. I don't play this much at all but it seems like each time I pick it up a string or two will be out of tune slightly...it's frustrating to me because I am used to my Strat which is always in tune. I just wanted to mention it for full disclosure.
update 6-2-18: I played an outdoors gig with this guitar last weekend and it held tune well throughout.
I am the original owner and the guitar is set up with Ernie Ball regular slinkys 10-46. If I left anything out please let me know. The guitar will ship in a gig bag that has a broken zipper but will offer protection during the shipment. Original bridge & posts, pickup, and tuners (though the tuners may not be usable anymore since I had to enlarge the holes) will ship with the guitar.
$225 shipped to contiguous US. Thanks for looking.
