FS: Fender HM Strat - Made in Japan

For sale - Fender HM (Heavy Metal) Strat. In the rare Black Crackle paint job. Price - $495 + actual shipping to CONUS.

Guitar plays great, sounds great and stays in tune. Whammy bar included. Seymour Duncan Custom Custom bridge pickup.
Both stock Fender single coils have been overwound to about 9k, similar in resistance to SSL-5's. Neck plate says USA, but
these were all Made in Japan at the legendary FujiGen factory (home of Team J-Craft). Some were assembled in USA. Glossy
finish removed from neck and tung oil applied, now it plays and feels like one of those good old oiled Charvel necks.

Paint job is in good shape. Guitar has many tiny dings that don't go through to the wood. Looks great from 2 feet away.
I've made a short sound clip so you can hear what it sounds like. I move through pickup positions 2 - 5 clean, and then a
distorted riff on the bridge pickup. Sound Clip

These are my favorite Super Strats besides Charvels. I had a black one I sold that I miss still today. Do you have the original Dimarzio Super III pickup and does this come with a case?

Hey Kevin! This one came with an EMG, someone had taken out the Super 3 long before I got it. I have found several of the Super 3's for around $40 used, though, on Craigslist and feeBay. It will come securely packed & shipped in an old, stickered up case that you'll probably want to throw away but it will be well protected for the ride out.

P.S. I'm also going to give this a fretboard conditioning, a fresh coat of tung oil for the neck and a new set of strings before I send it out.
