For Sale: (1) Lindy Fralin Blues Special Strat pickup, middle. Slightly hotter & warmer than purely vintage-type Strats pickups, but still plenty clear.

I've been using it in the neck position of my Tele, so IIRC, it has extensions solderd and heatshrunk onto its leads. Other than that, excellent condition.

Link to Fralin's page for the Blues Special: http://www.fralinpickups.com/stratstyleBS.asp

$50 shipped to CONUS. Other locations, PM me for shipping rates.

So it is rw ?
Can you please post a pic, I am interested in it.
Also, I have a full set of like new SSL1s.
Did you find them yet ?

Re: FS: Fralin Blues Special Strat Pickup

Well, it's still in the guitar, so it doesn't look like much, just a Strat pickup with a white cover. LOL

I went through a lot of experimenting and analysis when I installed this pickup to get it right, and YES, it is RWRP when paired with my STL-1. I assume that means it will also be RWRP with Duncan Strat bridge pickups. (I recently asked in the pickup lounge whether Duncan Strat and Tele pickups follow the same winding and polarity conventions, but nobody answered.)

I actually don't need the SSL-1 for my immediate plans, but I guess I'd be willing to trade the Blues Special for an RWRP SSL-1, just to have it in the parts bin. Outright sale probably preferred at this point.

I don't mind buying it outright if I have to.
Can you just clear up the extensions ?
Were the leads cut short and then extended, or were the extensions just added because the original wires were not long enough ?

Re: FS: Fralin Blues Special Strat Pickup

It's a Strat middle pickup, I believe it originally came in a high-end non-Fender Strat, and the leads were cut to the right length for middle position installation. Since I'm using it as a a Tele neck pickup, I had to extend the leads to reach the control cavity. I do a neat job though: solder and heatshrink, not twisted wires and scotch tape.
