FS/FT: Hybrid humbucker: PG/Custom

uOpt

Something Cool
This is a Hybrid that has been passed around forum members for a while. Chassis and slug coil from a PG (3.98 Kohm) and the screw coil is from a custom (6.56 Kohm).

The pickup was re-potted when I got it and I didn't break the re-potting. I did, however, remove the cheap plastic tape that it had around it and replaced it with the actual Seymour Duncan used cloth tape that you can buy at Stewmac (see photos).

Cable is 10 inches to the end of the main insulation and 11 to the tip of the wires.

I am pretty sure the magnet is A5.

Bump. Wake up people.

Looks like I gotta wait for the next round of forum hybrid craze:crazy:

Hmm, maybe I should start one :)

Re: FS/FT: Hybrid humbucker: PG/Custom

I've got a Hybrid with one custom coil and one unpotted custom wound coil (4.05k w/ 42 AWG, similar to the VHPAF or the '78), but I pulled part of the lead out of the VHPAF coil. I think I can go back and fix it if you're interested. Oh, and it's tremspaced, uses the baseplate from the custom with about 2-3 inches of lead (great for a strat bridge, but probably won't work for anything else). So it comes out to about 12.25 k in series and has more midrange than the 59/custom. Once I get the VHPAF coil fixed, I can send it in to Duncan to replace the lead if you need a longer lead. And if you're interested.

edit: the screw coil is 4.55k instead of 4.05k. But I figure it's about the same pickup you've got, just thought I'd let you know though.
