FS/FT: Keeley'd DS-1

Well, I modded this thing just to see what it was about. It's a nice, slightly compressed, mean little drive sound. Turns out it's just not my style. The more I play, the more I use lower drive pedals/boosts and amp drive. I had to use some high voltage rated caps that were a bit physically big, but it all fit fine. Seeing eye modded, with the ultra. I didn't put in the switch, because I know I like asymmetrical clipping in my drive pedals. Cool pedal for sure.

Umm, you didn't list your selling price or trade options.

I'm pretty open for trades, and as far as price, shoot me an offer. What do Keeley spec moddded ds-1's usually go for?

I'll say 45 bucks shipped to the 48 states.

Can you describe the sound a bit more?

Also, how's the sweep of each pot? Would I be able to get a decent cleaner/semi-dirty sound with the gain down? I've got an old DS-1 but I'm not really a fan of it.

I'm just looking for some slight grind on my Mesa, something to add some delay and maybe phaser to--nothing really incredibly high gain.

It's always got some grit to it, for sure. It's not a clean pedal. But you can dial it cak, and then with your volume control, dial it back even more. Really a versatile pedal, but most of it's sweep is on the meaner side.

I did the mods. Parts alone cost me like 20 bucks, though luckily I had the resistors around already.

Re: FS/FT: Keeley'd DS-1

i know it isn't intentional but I really sounds like you are saying this is a keeley-modded ds-1 (meaning modded by Robert Keeley). Just so people know what they are looking at you might want to change the title to FS/FT DS-1 modded in the style of Keeley...

Just don't want anyone to buy this thinking they are getting an actual keeley mod...

Re: FS/FT: Keeley'd DS-1

I edited the original post to say "I modded." That should be a little more clear.

Re: FS/FT: Keeley'd DS-1

I have a line 6 uber metal I can trade other that I'd have to wait on cash.. if its still around when I'm less broke Ill shoot you a message my man

Re: FS/FT: Keeley'd DS-1

I've sold or traded every heavy gain pedal I've owned. Cash would be best for me in that case. Let me know if you are able to buy it later. Thanks, man
