I bought a Trans Satin Strat to mod and I have the neck w/ tuners and stock pickups-- a Duncan Designed HB-102 set from it here for sale or trade.
I'd trade the neck & pickups for a great/higher $ (e.g. Lollar, WCR, BKP) bridge or neck HB, a really good set (used Duncans/DiMarzios, etc.), or a great strat tremolo.
or
$80 shipped to the lower 48/pp'ed for everything.

If you're modding the Squier Strat, the Standard Series usually has a 2 point pivot bridge with spacing that doesn't match up to ANYTHING. (If it's a 6 screw, it has MIM spacing.)

Ah good to know-- thanks and it does have a 2 point pivot. Maybe I'll just anchor it with some springs and put some good saddles on there.
I ordered one of those GFS Wilky bridges that is supposed to fit anything b/c it has one notch for one post and then is open on the other end. Do you think that won't work?
If not, can't I just drill it for a 6 screw vintage bridge?

The GFS one might fit, I haven't used one of those. I just didn't want you trading your neck and pickups for a bridge that you couldn't use. Yes, you could use a 6 screw bridge, you'd just have to pull the posts out and fill the holes with a dowel and then drill. You'd be able to see the edges of the dowels though, as the replacement bridge wouldn't come far enough forward to cover them..

Thanks and yeah I figured as much. We'll see if the GFS works as billed-- that was the whole reason I bought that particular model.
I think I'm covered on trems for this project-- I have the Wilky and a Babicz (probably for a different one).
I'm interested in trading this for pickups or Schaller 6 IL Locking tuners if anyone has any.

Hey coop, not to hijack your thread but, what mods are planned? Have the same guitar. Put a demon bridge and jazz neck in mine. Thinking of a swap to mean 90s to brighten it up though. Great guitar in any case good luck.

So far I put a Carvin mahogany neck with Sperzels on mine and reamed the pot holes for US pots. It's either getting P-Rails or some Smits pickups I have sitting around. Going to probably go with the Wilky trem I mentioned and then call it a day on this one!
