Mil-Spec paper in oil caps
.022/400v and .015/400v NOW-some .047s, too!
Smoothest caps I know of-I like 'em better than the Jensen PIOs (for guitars as well as amps-these w/polyester/foil caps in the inverter section do wonderful things for Marshall-type circuits. Better than "Mouse-turds" for new builds..LOTS less $$ as well. So you can avoid dumb stuff. Like spending $250++ on signal caps, and $85 on tubes.)
These are also the guts (or working bits) in the venerable LUXE Bumblebee repros folks rave about. From their E-bay ad:
"The caps are handmade with Russian military surplus .022/400v Paper-in-Oil capacitors and have a very warm and creamy sound. Everybody loves these which is why they are always out of stock.
These are the only paper-in-oil Bumblebee repros available in the whole wide world, and at half the price of the crappy fakes you can't go wrong.
To answer a frequently asked question: the Vintage Clone caps are made with a Mallory 150, which is a metallized plastic film cap ($1.28 each from MojoMusicalSupply). Why are the Vintage Clone caps at least $44 each? Search me. What's the difference? Mine are 100 Million times better and half the price!"
Here's the difference-
-Crap clones:$44 each.
-LUXE Russians in a black/striped evening ensemble:$40/pair
-These, same deal, just silver!
-all tested for value, and leakage, leads dressed for easy soldering.
$10/pr, any value includes PayPal and shipping.
At these prices even nay-sayers who believe A-cap-is-a-cap, (you know-the ones who change the ceramic discs for Orange drops??)
can decide for themselves for the cost of a couple of beers.
Lots of references, lot of folks here have bought 'em and dig 'em.

Raves:
i'm surprised youz guyz aren't jumpin' all over these for the price. they sound insanely good; it's almost worth crankin' your amp's treble just so you can run yer sig through 'em. they have a addictively rich quality. i even like 'em better than jensen cfio's & EASILY as much as nos b'bees."

"I've installed the .022s in my Les Paul !!! "buy with total confidence here (as i can attest to 1st-hand).
Man they sound good !!! I wish I had ordered a 0.12 Vitamin Q for my strat in the same time ! Now I will have to pay the post twice...
Everybody, this man has good stuff, sells it for dirt cheap, and sends it at light speed. It took only a few days to receive it in France !!!"

"Great investment. It really smoothed out the high end on the treble pickup and opened up the neck pickup.
Thanks, it was well worth the $10."

"I got mine and installed them last night (22 and 15 in a LP Standard faded with BB pros) sounds good at low volume and I could tell a big difference over the stock ceramic disk caps. Going to crank it up this weekend and looking forward to even more difference at high volumes
They shipped fast and were exactly as described, good deal! "
