Hey hey

I want to trade one of my Splawns for something else. I figure the QR is probably the more desirable of the two. It's a great amp but I'm ready to try something different, so let's see how this goes.

I'm interested in other high-gain, high-watt tube heads only. Boutique not totally necessary but it helps.

I would consider:

  • Peters Amplification
  • Bogner Shiva
  • Orange Thunderverb
  • Pre-Peavey Budda SD 80
  • VHT/Fryette
  • Goodsell/Germino/Mojave/Etc.
  • ???
The Quick Rod is a 2-channel 100-watt EL34 head. It's been described as VH in a box, and it can definitely get that tone easily with no pedals. It does a lot more, too.

The clean channel is very nice, clear, with extremely high headroom and a dedicated EQ.

The OD channel is godly. It has 3 "gears" which restructure the gain layout, allowing you to go from AC/DC and VH-I all the way through Lynch/Nuno '80s tones, to extremly huge, articulate modern metal.

The amp has an OD1/OD2 button on the footswitch which enables a gain boost so you can switch between two levels of gain (like rock/metal) on channel 2.

The amp also has a dedicated Solo Boost with its own master volume, allowing you to dial in a volume jump for solos at any level you desire. Hitting this button on the footswitch also jumps you to the OD2 setting for extra gain.

The head is in excellent condition, has fresh tubes/bias.

Please no Peaveys or Fenders or little combos or halfway-there deals with pedals thrown in or any of that kind of stuff.. I know not everybody has high-end amps to just throw around on here and I'm lucky to have two of them, But I need something I can play live with DoB.

Thanks for looking!

Throw in some mid-90s DOD pedals and a Mel Bay chord book, and it's yours.
