Maybe ten years ago I wasn't so concerned with gear/pickups, but I found a guitar that was pretty "effortless" in a band setting; an Ibanez SZ with a set neck. The guitar "disappeared" years ago to my regret (some band member walked off with it, I don't really think I cared at that time of my life; ) my only real recollection of the pickups was I think they were Duncans... And they sounded really, really good.
Finally found some pics from those days; squinted hard at them and saw hex poles which I didn't recall. Looked up some info online. Turns out this is what it was:
So for the last few months I have not been able to get over what an awesome pickup the "new-to-me" Screamin Demon in my Strat is. Turns out I knew it years ago, when I was playing the (slightly hotter) Duncan Designed version
Moved on to guitars with a variety of Duncans and other pickups (see sig for just a small amount of them,) lots were good, others didn't suit me, but I guess the Demon feels so good because it's in part a homecoming...
