Full Shred and Mahagony

Re: Full Shred and Mahagony

A Full Shred in a mahogany super Strat, especially one with a 24 3/4" scale, is gonna sound nice and tight. It won't sound thin or bass-deficient.

I tried a Full Shred in a Kramer with maple neck-thru construction and ebony fretboard. In that guitar it was a little light in the low end.

In your mahogany guitar, Metaldood, I think it'll sound great.

Re: Full Shred and Mahagony

Think about a custom or maybe a PATB. I hear that the PATB-3 makes a lot of superstrats sound like Les Pauls.

+1 on the custom. I love mine for tight chunky chords. I think it would bring out what you are missing in the strat type set-up.

Well I got the FS today, haven't wired it in yet because I also snagged an Invader. What do you guys think about the Invader, it's a hell of a mean looking pup that's for sure!

I almost forgot that Vivian played on Holy Diver

the Invader will have higher output and a lot more bottom end and low mids. powerful, but not nearly as articulate as the FS

I think you know I just snagged a Kramer Nightswan. I don't know what to expect, but the EQ in the tone chart gave it a 4 on the lows. Not sure if that's enough bottom? Or will the Mahogany body compensate for it, like you're pointing out? I do have an extra 500XL here, but I hope to not have to swap the pups.
