FULL SHRED anyone??

hi guys,
im still on my mission to find the right pickups for my newly acquired Flying V (mahog body with ebony fingerbord)!!
up until now i was thinking about a CUSTOM CUSTOM for the bridge, but i have just listned to a few soundbytes of the FULL SHRED, and i like it!
do any of you have any clips of this pickup in action?
do u recommend it for my guitar? i play stuff variying from pearl jam, clean opeth, and heavy stuff like Dream Theater and Deftones
would the FS or the CC do better for these?
also, how would the fullshred sound in the neck position? i compared the clean and dirty clips of the fullshred neck and the a2pro and i think i like the FS better!
would a set of fullshreds go well or do u think its better to have diff. type pickups for more versatility

so anyways, if u could offer some clips/advice on these pickups, it would be GREAT!

thanks
Ishan

pm'd ya

Personally for PJ, and the Deftones I'd go Full Shred, I think Dream Theatre would be more CC from what I heard

Re: FULL SHRED anyone??

i recomend a custom for that guitar so u have a nice middle man between the full shred and cc

Re: FULL SHRED anyone??

i was thinking.... full shred Neck and cc bridge...
also. you can buy a CC and put it FIRST IN THE Neck, if you like it, you will buy or ANOTHER cc for the bridge, or a full shred bridge.
Q:p

Re: FULL SHRED anyone??

There are only two Duncan pickups I truly don't like- one is the Screamin' Demon and the other is the Full Shred. I bought the FS after reading that Viv Campbell used one in Dio in the 80s. I was using Randall Amps at the time.

I thought it was extremely harsh/thin and I found it unusable. The FS holds the record for shortest time in my guitar- less than 1 week I think. This was a basswood body super stat with a maple neck.

On the other hand- I really like the Custom Custom! I use a CC a great deal. I also really like the C5. I just had a custom guitar built and went with a CC bridge and cool rails in the neck.

Listen to the intro of my tune "Greatness of the Yankees" (click below). The intro is a Custom Custom. Most the song was done w/ a C5 but I went back and redid the intro using a CC because it is just great at that kind of stuff. It is also just great for leads.
