Full Shred neck pu, in the bridge position?

Hey everyone i have a question about a Full Shred neck pup. I got it new for real cheap, its designed for the neck but i need to upgrade a Dean humbucker in the bridge spot. The music store guy said it will sound the same as the bridge design, and the only difference would be the pole spacing. So i figured it would be fine, but its so bassy, i swear it sounds like a bass guitar pu. My question is does that seem right? Could it be wired out of phase or something to cause all that bass? Or does a neck design pup just sound different? Any feedback would be great, and thank you in advance for any help.:banghead:

It doesn't seem right, because the neck pup (placement, not actually the pup) has more power and bass.

Check your wires, and check that you dont have your tone control on zero.

I have green& braided ground soldered to the bottom of the volume pot , red&white soldered togather and the black going to the hot on the pot? Would it be characteristic of a lack of ground ? A diagram i looked @ http://www.seymourduncan.com/support/wiring-diagrams/schematics.php?schematic=2h_2v_1t_3w , shows a ground going to each pot and the switch, my doesnt have that.

sorry for the crudity of my posts

yes but it made very little difference to the tone, its about halfway between the strings and bezel now, it has 500k pots, wonder if a shorted or damaged volume pot would cause it?

Weird because it actually lacks bass mostly. And neck pickups are usually wound brighter because the neck position is bassier.

The Full Shred neck pickup has increased treble and when I had it in the neck of my axe, it was not bassy. A good amount of bass (read: fat and chunky), but not "bassy". So it's a weird situation.

FSn is not bassy.
FSn is (probably) a Jazzn with 12 hexscews.

FSn is not at all same as FSb.
