I'm considering getting a new bridge pickup for my guitar.
Its a Jackson soloist. Mahogany body, and maple neck through
Currently I have a set of custom made Motorcity Pickups in my guitar. The neck is under-wound Afwayu neck, and the bridge is an over-wound (18k I believe) Afwayu bridge with a ceramic magnet.
And its just to bloody dark, I was really searching for something with a ton of treble and very controlled mid and bottom. But it seems the high winding really hurts the chord clarity I'm looking for.
Apparently hotter pickups really aren't that much better, they just kinda cloud the string to string clarity. Although I love the ceramic top end, even if its "artificial"
So I've been looking, and it appears the Full Shred might be the best option.
I was just curios to see what some equivalent pickups might be from Dimarzio, BareKnuckle, or even a different Motorcity one (Maybe the Angel Dust).
And how they compare to each other.
Thanks in advance.
Also I play metal:headbang:, typically tuned to D standard, sometimes C. Playing through a 6505. No boost, I hate boost.
