Full shred questions

I am looking at installing an FS in the neck of my RG. It has a basswood body and floyd trem. I'm looking for some input as to the sound I can expect from this pickup. I'm looking for a metal and hard rock lead tone. This pickup will be matched with a custom in the bridge and a ? in the single middle position. Any input would be a great help.

Re: Full shred questions

th fs in the neck should give you a very focused tone with good clarity and a smooth sound

Re: Full shred questions

Can I expect less woofyness from the FS than a 59. It was my understanding that would be th case, but in reading another thread it was mentioned that the FS had to much bass?

Re: Full shred questions

I think that the 59 in the neck is more boomy than the FS. The FS will give you articulate, ultra fucused lead tones. It is a mighty shred metal lead pickup rivaled only by the Distortion neck humbucker. If you're looking for metal lead tone, I don't think you'll be disappointed. And if you are, exchange it for a Distortion. Then, if you're still not satisfied, you must not know what true metal tone is.

Re: Full shred questions

The FS is one of my favorite neck pups for soloing. Very articulate and perfect for soloing in the neck pos. in my opinion.
