Full shred + (small)ceramic = sex

Re: Full shred + ceramic = sex

That sounds pretty spectacular. I am VERY fond of the TB-6 in my BC Rich USA guitar. Punchier sounds promising; I cannot imagine it sounding more full than it already does.
Try it with an Alnico 8! The DD kicks ass in my LTD, but I like it even better now with an A8. At least for that guitar, the search is over!

Sounds good Rumblebox! That FS might be just the ticket for my stubborn old Jackson. :)

hey bro how does it feel under the fingers? it sounds really tight and responsive? Can you post a clip of LAMB OF GOD with it?:cool2:

Has anybody compared the Full Shred with ceramic magnet to an AlNiCo 8 magnet?

I'm currently testing one with A8 but I'm not fully satisfied yet although I played a lot with pole piece hights and even filister screws in one row and in Z-constellation.
Unfortunately the posted video isn't available anymore.

Ceramic would be a touch brighter and a touch "tighter" than your A8

What are you trying to achieve?

I'm aiming for an alternative for my Duncan Distortion as I have several guitars with them but want something different this time.
Pitch harmonics and dynamic feels way better with the TB-6 compared to the Full Shred with A8.
Basses sound mean but the mids feel kind of stiff. Also treble was reduced what I dislike.

As mentioned in another thread I think my Full Shred already had a normal sized ceramic magnet stock.
Maybe a thick one like the TB-6 helps my situation..
With A8 I think the Full Shred is too unbalanced, with the stock magnet it was too thin.

I have exchanged the small A8 with a big ceramic magnet in the Full Shred. Sounds better too me and more similar to the Duncan Distortion. It's super tight and articulate. Almost a little too tight for big chords. Sounds like old school trash metal too me. Basses are rather on the thin side again. Might try another round with filister heads in one row.

I don't think that the bass is thin so much as the treble is probably over the top.
