full shred vs. deamon

i have never actually purchased a seymour duncan. the only one i had was a stupid detonator and thaat one sucked. the 2 duncans that apeal to me most are the screamon deamon and the full shred. could you tell me how they compare in sound and wich one is hotter and stuff like that.

I have XXXX (edit) haven't tried (edit) the Screaming Demon ... but I'd say the FS has a tiny bit more output

the full shred have a little more output and is crunchy and the demon growls a little more i have/like/use both if the body wood is mahogany a full shred is right at home !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i have heard that the deamon is similar to the 59b. what is the fs similar to.

closest IMHO is the JB ... but it's got more crunch to it. Hell the Full Shred is Crunch God ... if it had more bass I'd say it has an Ogre complex

i bought a used detonator from a guitar store once, i thought it was okay. Did you have a Tom Delonge squire, because i thought that was the only guitar that had it. it's basically the cheap version of an invader isnt it?

the FULL SHRED is amazing but no one uses them man the are chunky and have cool harmonics!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How do you guys think a Full Shred in neck position would team up with a JB?
From what I've heard of both pickups is that they are lacking in the bass a little are crunchy, have cool harmonics and can chunk.
Perfect combo?

It might sound good ... I don't know (no first hand knowledge of the FS in the neck)

I'd venture a guess that it'd sound allright, but without first hand knowledge of the neck model of the Full Shred I don't know

Vivian Campbell used a custom made guitar ( it was Krammer nightsawn prototype). It had a JB Humbuker in the bridge & a Full Shred in the neck( middle to put it correct technically, the guitar did not have a neck pup). The axe was made of Mahogany, birdseye maple neck and ebony retboard with a floydrose.
To the best of my knowledge Vivian was one of the pioners of the Full shred.
( I have a pic of the guitar, it has been modified though)

Sounds cool PA distortion. Im getting a FS in the neck of my mahogany guitar, so theres no lack of bass problem going on there.

The Full Shred is bassy?? The tone chart makes it look like it's mostly upper end frequencies.....

i bought it for 30 bucks and i thought it was good only because it was being compared to stock epiphones. it did was harmonic galore but it just sounded boomy and bassy to me

I've only played the FS in the neck of a Jackson Warrior. Sounded great. Very smooth and clear. It's often overlooked as a neck pup.

Keep in mind that the Demon & FS were designed with the players that used them in mind. Viv Campbell used the Full Shred a lot with late Dio & the "video Whitesnake" era and the Demon was George Lynch's baby. Do either of those players' tones appeal to you? I personally like the Full Shred pickups a lot (almost as much as Invaders), but they sometimes seem a bit bright for me.
