So lately Ive stripped down my gear some...sold a few guitars and my Vox Tonelab SE and Im looking just to keep it simlple. (Having twins in Oct. and need to start saving a bit). Right now I just have my Mesa Boogie and an overdrive, distortion, and chorus pedal. Im looking to add a wah and I think Ill be set. So what do you guys think of the Fulltone Clyde Deluxe wah???

Re: Fulltone Clyde Deluxe Triple Voiced Wah Pedal

Absolutely great and worth the money, because it's like having 3 different wah pedals. Shaft has more high frequencies, making it good for chirpy funk riffs up on the neck. Jimi nails the classic Vox sound. Whacked is one of my favorites, because it's shifted low and good for riffs on the lower strings....think Jerry Cantrell. I probably use the Whacked setting more than the others. The vowel sound on Jimi is A. The vowel sound on Whacked is O or U. On Shaft it's more E or I......if that makes any sense.

It's great, I've had one for a couple months and love it. It cuts through really well

Re: Fulltone Clyde Deluxe Triple Voiced Wah Pedal

I've been rocking one for a year or more. It's alright. I've actually gone back to my previous Dunlop wah (Dime's CFH) and I'm much happier with it.

The Clyde is good for the brighter wah sounds but I'm into darker, throatier wah sounds (think Jerry Cantrell) and IMO the Clyde just doesn't go there (even on Whacked).

I may be willing to sell mine if you're interested in it anyway.

The Fulltone Clyde wahs are great sounding wahs...not a truly vintage tone but good. My issue with them is the case design...Fuller designed his own case to get max travel from a wah and number 1, max travel is not always a good thing and 2 it makes the pedal feel real funny under your foot...at least it does to me anyway!

I'm still surprised that I've been playing for ... 27 years and have yet to own a wah pedal!

This just goes to show how important a role "feel" plays in a wah. I've said this before on another forum. The Fulltone Clyde Deluxe does have the right feel to me. It's a personal choice. I can recommend the Fulltone based on sound alone, but I highly recommend you testing one out and comparing it to others. Follow this link to a post I did on another forum where I tell my story on comparing the Fulltone Clyde Deluxe to some RMC models. You'll recognize my avatar, but my screenname is Dig.
