Yesterday I tried a Fulltone Deja Vibe pedal at a local store. I was really disappointed with the quality of the switches. The stomp switch didn't engage the effect about 50% of the time, it just killed everything, no sound at all. The vintage/modern selector switch crackled like crazy. The unit crackled like it had a cracked solder joint somewhere if i played even moderately hard on the guitar.
Aside from that, when I could get the thing working, the sound was great. Very transparent when mixed in just a little, and totally Trower/Hendrix-esque at more extreme chorus settings. In the vibrato mode, you can get a very subtle waver or a not so subtle tape wow/ broken movie projector kind of vibe.
Anybody had better luck with the construction of your Deja Vibe? It would be worth buying a working unit if this was an isolated case.
