I was about to sell my OCD, and I was trying to find out waht version it is (its version III). I ran across this clip of the Fulltone OCD.
Brother, this thing is just clean, clear and delivers a excellent violin tone.
Id like to know what amp the dude is using.
He also has some seasoned chops-hes no mutton!

P.S. it eats the "Timmy" and spits it out!

Im curious how you can claim that the OCD is "better" than a tim(my) and you haven't even tried one...

Anyway the tim(my) pedals are quite nice... only spent a few inutes wiht an OCD so I won't compare but the Tim(my) pedals are pretty killer.

I do suggest really spending some time wiht pedals before you decide to boot them so kudos for that...I hope you are able to dial in the OCD to your liking...

Nothing is sadder than watching a guy go through 20 amps, 35 pedals and 12 sets of pickups in less than 6 months owning nothing longer than a week...there is no way you can find out everything about any peice of gear in 3 or 4 days...

Didnt you think that clip i posted said anyhting about thhe Timmy Vs. the OCD?
Did you think the OCD sounded killer, cause i did.
I guess you don't put much creedence in those clips?
I mean, all things being equal thhe OCD trounced the Timmy on that clip.
Ive got a pair of JBL Eons as my computer monitor, so Im getting a good sound out of the PC.

IMHO, the Tim(mmy) is a great pedal and when a/b'd with the OCD.....which I have done....the Tim was warmer and a bit more dynamic. I love my OCD, but it doesn't even remotely "Eat" the Tim. They are both good pedals, but excel at different things.

Well, it certainly did in that clip. You gotta admit that Jump.

I didn't watch the clip, sound clips...and even more so those posted on Youtube are mostly terrible IMO.

Not at all...

All things are never equal...not on the internet, not on sound clips and the other biggie is that one mans trash is another mans treasure...some guys use and love sotck MIJ DS-1 pedals...Steve Via, Satch, even our own Lew...I wouldn't piss on a DS-1 to put out a fire...

It sounded to me like the OCD was in high pass mode which really kicks it up a notch in volume, treble and upper mids. It's kind of hard to compare them in that clip simply because you cannot simply dial them identically and expect them to have the same volume. I thought that both sounded good.

Okay...I'm a goober from OH...please give a quick explanation of a "Timmy"...Thanks for educating a refined redneck...in advance.

Re: Fulltone OCD Sounding very very good! (CLIP)

The Timmy is more in the US soundscape lane...while the OCD is based on British voicings...the Tim/Timmy is great for those old 80s Robben Ford tones and alikes....great pedals...very charming and has their own special flavour...while I think the OCD is too common a pedal....no offense!

Made by Paul Cochran. Hand built, reasonably price mild-medium overdrive. They sell new for around $120 I think, but people pay absolutely stupid prices on eBay and The Gear Page for used ones because the wait is in the neighborhood of 1 year to get one.

I have never played one. I have owned the Fulltone OCD (Version 1 and 3). The OCD is cool, but I definitely liked Ver. 1 better.

FWIW, I though the Timmy stomped all over the OCD in that clip.

Re: Fulltone OCD Sounding very very good! (CLIP)

The Timmy and Tim OD pedals are custom built by Paul Cochrane from the Gearpage. The TIM has a Boost and Gain side plus a built in FX loop. The Timmy is just the gain side alone. I do believe that the Timmy has a bit more available gain than the Tim.

Re: Fulltone OCD Sounding very very good! (CLIP)

The drive sections of the Tim and Timmy are the same except the Timmy has the ability to clip symmetrically or asymmetrically where the Tim only has one mode (I can't remember which) but the Tim does have a boost built in as well as an effects look that is switched in and out with the Tim itself.
