IMO, if you don't have a good amp, save your money for that first before you get an OCD, since it's designed to work with a good amp.
I won't comment much on the Tim & Timmy, since I haven't played mine enough, HOWEVER, most players agree that they're excellent pedals at a fair price. Many LOVE the EQ sections of both pedals, and use them with other pedals for that reason.
As far as clips, I listen to them, but I often say there are a couple of aspects to amps & pedals: the way they SOUND, and the way the FEEL. You can compare tone often, but the thing clips can't convey is the FEEL of a pedal or amp, and to me, that's just as important.
