Fulltone *thumbs up*

Woke up this morning, on my desk i see a foreign white box.
Still drowsy i walk up and to my excitement, i see a International Postage Reciept taped to the Box.
I instantly wake up and find my Fulltone Clyde Standard Wah in my hands.
I played with it for about 30 mins and fell in love with it, i'll definately still need more practise but from what i've played with its amazing.

Any hints or tips about using this. I'm not too sure how to use that internal bass/drive knob. Also is there anyway to make it so that i need to step down with more pressure to de/activate the wah?

Also, from one of the previous posts the Fulltone range of pedals seem amazing.

Am currently looking around for a few new pedals:
Tremolo
Chorus
Distortion/Overdrive

I play a LP with a 59n and a JBb through a Marshall JTM30. I also own a Keeley TS-9 and a DD6, along with the new fulltone.

How are the fulltone pedals in terms of tremolo, chorus and distortion/overdrive.
I am very interested and may get them.

Mainly interested in the Supa-Trem, OCD and the Fulldrive 2.
Heard many good things, if possible, leave a brief description that sums it up but if you REALLY love it please more detail please so i can REALLY love it if i choose to buy it.

Thanks

Re: Fulltone *thumbs up*

All Fulltone stuff gets RAVE reviews except the Distortion Pro and some bguys are luke warm about the Choralflange...

I do not currently own any Fulltone stuff but I think thats about to change!

Nice wah you have...enjoy it!

Re: Fulltone *thumbs up*

Now get yourself a Fulltone '69 pedal, plug it into your Clyde, and you'll have the Jimi Hendrix tone of your dreams!

Re: Fulltone *thumbs up*

I died when I got my OCD. I had a Vox, a Marshall and a cranked Blackface all in one pedal. That little LP/HP switch is so cool, and the tone knob is great (use it as the best treble booster). Fulltone is really good. I want to get the Clyde Deluxe, the mini Dejavibe and the Soul Bender next!

Not worth owning, IMO. One of Mike Fullers only weak sounding pedals, IMO.
I sure did not like mine...

Really?!

John loves his?!

Im not one for univibe type pedals anyway but I always thought that was a good one...Hmm...

Lew,

What all Fulltone stuff have you tried?

I take it back...I was wrong. It the the Fulltone Chorus/Flange that I didn't like at all! Never tried the Deja Vibe. The Chorus/Flange had weak output and seemed to weaken the guitar signal.

You know the stereo chorus I do like? The Danolectro Cool Cat! It's stereo so you can play through two amps, it gets a great tone and it's fairly inexpensive. Wish it wasn't made in China though...

My favorite mono chorus remains the Boss CE-3.

You do mean CE-2 right...the CE-3 is ther stereo version of he CE-2.

A good friend of mine uses a Cool Cat and gets a cool sound from it but to be honest I never really spent much time with it...

Re: Fulltone *thumbs up*

Fuller's version of the Univibe via the Mini Deja Vibe is about the best a guy can do today to get the correct "vibe" tone...We do Jimi and some Trower stuff and you have to have at least a Vibe and a great wah!

I May have my OCD tomorrow to run through it's paces..

The OCD is so damn delicious.... gawd I love that thing.

BTW there's an Ultimate Octave in the trading post... :deal:

Re: Fulltone *thumbs up*

Make sure you do a search on this site for fulltone, because there's a lot written about them.

I love the Clyde Deluxe or regular Clyde, the FDII, and OCD, among others.

The Choralflange is a good pedal because it can do a lot, but there's better chorus pedals out there. My ADA Flanger is far better than the flange sound it gets too. I finally realized that it does have some good sounds in it.....you just have to go looking for them. I have it set for a fast Leslie type of sound.

If you open up a Clyde pedal, you can see how well designed it is. If you want it to have a harder on/off click, you might be able to mess with it. There's also a rubber stopper in the back, to end it's travel...do NOT remove it, or else the treadle will lift right off the pot! To fine tune the travel, you can mess with the treadle/pot connection to give it the sweep you want.
IMO, it's the most advanced wah pedal ever made.

If you go to www.fulltone.com and see the Custom Shop section, Mike is talking about the next two pedals....an OD/Distortion called the Super Lead, and the Tri Stereo Chorus. I can't wait till those come out. Both are going to be killer!

I basically am going to get 2 more distortion/overdrive pedals.
But not sure what i want yet, esp cause i can't try them out before i buy. (locationwise)

I have a Ts9 Keeley Mod Plus and very happy with the overdrive i produces.

I had in mind, the Keeley Blues Driver, Keeley TS9 Baked mod, Fulltone OCD and the Fulltone Fulldrive II.

What you think, i want another pedal thats very diff to my ts9 in terms of the type or overdrive it produces and a pedal that i can really use to give my amps the crunch it needs, so a fuller distortion. Whats good, whats not?

Once you're using good quality OD's, it's hard to say what's good or not, because they all react differently to your guitar/amp/fingers/other pedals. The truth is....you're better off buying/selling used OD's for awhile, hearing a lot of different ones on your rig, and finally you'll see which ones nail the sound you're after. If you always buy used ones, and sell them for what you paid, you can audition a bunch without laying out much money. Eventually, you'll stumble on 1 or 2 that you have no intention of selling. That's why it's so hard to suggest OD pedals to people.

Re: Fulltone *thumbs up*

I love the Keeley Blues Driver!!!! My friend's dad, who is a guitar collector, and his son in two of my bands and I use it every time I go over there for band practice. It sounds like EXACTLY what you are looking for. A fatter, fuller more transparent tone than the Tube Screamer, and I think has more gain than the tube screamer. And of course, it has less mids.

I would recomend that and Fulldrive II. Played the new 10th anniversery version and it kicked ass! Really thickened up the sounds of the tele I was playing. That pedal sounds a little like a cranked super reverb to me. Got that gusty tone with good bass and is not too crunchy, more overdrive. I would not recomend the OCD for what you are looking for because it kinda thins out your tone a little. It works best as a booster in the HP switch. Adds a big bass boost, takes the mids up a tiny bit and gives you more treble. And volume and gain is boosted. The LP setting can be very tranparent and is good for a solo boost. But anyway, for what you are looking for, Id go with the Fulldrive II, which Im getting GAS for again...

Fuller is not the only guy anymore....there are some very good ones out there, with a far less "generic boutique foutique" imprent to them, not dissing Mike's stuff, but the effectworld is changing and it is changing fast.
We ourselves has been around for as long as Fulltone, and we have felt the shift towards more different effect usage, than the usual clones, but then again we do not make clones;)
