Fulltone's Next Pedal! GT-350

Gear Ho
I was just looking at the Fulltone site, and came across their next offering, the GT-350, a dual mode FET Distortion Pedal. I'm not sure, but the idea for their Superlead pedal may have morphed into this pedal, since I don't see anything about the Superlead anymore.

Field Effect Transistors. Google it for a real explanation.
Marshall has often used them in their preamps to add additional gain, so it makes sense that he's using them in this pedal.

I don't judge a pedal till I hear it myself, with me playing it. I do like Fulltone pedals though. I'd probably pre-order this one.

I think you're right.

how 'bout this quote:
"Hmmm... I wonder if a Solid State version of the TTE would be a worthwhile venture?"

Re: Fulltone's Next Pedal! GT-350

I saw this opne on the HC-forum.

It reads a bit too heavy/hi-gain for my aplications/needs !

Re: Fulltone's Next Pedal! GT-350

Joe, how do you think this will compare to the SD Twin Tube pedal? To me it sounds like it will be higher gain. Also, how do you think this will differ from the FDII, which I still want to get.

Re: Fulltone's Next Pedal! GT-350

The GT-350 will cover a lot of ground from clean boost to high gain plus you can series or parallel the 2 drives like you were stacking 2 pedals, sounds like a killer pedal and suppose to work great with your guitars volume knob as well like the OCD. either way I look forward to that one coming out!

Yeah, a cheaper SS version of the Tube Tape Echo is what Fulltone really needs. That new chorus looks sweet too. I still think they should come out with a phaser.....something like a Mutron Bi-phase.

Re: Fulltone's Next Pedal! GT-350

A SS version of the TTE will still cost a lot and will still be a true pain in the neck...the issues with those (and Echoplexes, Roland units, WEM units, etc) is not really the tubes but the damn tape! I like a good tape echo as much as the next guy but they require up keep that 99% of people WILL NOT take the time to do and because of that they have short lifespans and are almost always in need of work...

As for the GT-350 looks like a high gain/more tweakable FDII...that could be good but only time will tell...people went CRAZY over the Distortion Pro when it came out and it sucks rocks IMO...

Probably fairly similar, only a different flavor of sound. After going through a lot of OD pedals, trying to find what I like the most, I think that most are useable, they just create a slightly different texture and sound to the notes and chords.
You really don't know if you love it till you try it with your favorite amps.

I thought of picking up an OCD eventually, but now I may try one of these instead. It's sure a cool looking pedal.....since I love stuff with an automotive vibe. No matter what, the Klon will always be my most used pedal, but it's fun to hear others and keep'em around for awhile.

Re: Fulltone's Next Pedal! GT-350

I hated the tone of the SD twin tube, the GT-350 is suppose to be higher gain than the OCD but still be able to get all those in between tones the twin tube was not even close to the OCD's tone..sorry if that sounds harsh against the twin tube thats just the way I perceived that pedal. The FD-2 is a low to mild OD compltely differnt type of drive pedal but very nice into a cooking preamp!!

Re: Fulltone's Next Pedal! GT-350

Looks very GAS worthy.

I LOVE THE FD2, so a gainy version might be fun.

I would love to get a 2 mode OCD, I wonder if this would suffice?

Would love to hear this with a Matchless or Marshall.

Yeah, it might prove to be a very usefull OD for Marshalls. The pedal was going to be called the Superlead, but they may have run into copyright problems, since Marshall already has that name.

Most of Fulltone's pedals are excellent. He's only made one pedal I didn't care for, the Distortion Pro......and I never had a use for Octafuzz tones. All the rest of Fuller's pedals have proven to be my favorites. I have the Clyde Deluxe, Choralflange, and cream FDII. I wish I still had my gold Dejavibe and 69 pedal.

The Superlead was a gag, remember that it had a tag about being available only in Japan? It was a stick-poke, not a serious product.

Oh really? I didn't catch that, but it makes sense from a hype standpoint.
Honestly, I like the looks and features of this GT-350 even more. That stainless look is pretty hip. I like all those little EQ knobs too.

Re: Fulltone's Next Pedal! GT-350

This pedal might be PERFECT for me, I just don't feel like ponying up again for another Fulltone. I have 2 and that's $400, I can get whole amps for that price.
Funny thing, is Boss FX are my latest craze. I like slummin'

Re: Fulltone's Next Pedal! GT-350

Yea dudes, I love fulltone stuff. I got the OCD, the Mini Deja Vibe and the Fulldrive II 10th Aniversary MOSFET edition and I love them all. Im definitely looking forward to the GT-350. I never knew that the Super Lead turned out to be a fluke thing, I just thought that MIke Fuller changed the name so it sounded less like a Marshall knock-off but rather a high gain modern thing with higher gain settings. Mike Fuller's EQ knobs are really good. The treble knob on the OCD is amazing. It distorts the high end as you crank it up like a treble booster. Its like playing through a Tweed amp like the Low Power Twin. If you crank up the treble or bass, they distort to a perfect amount of gain for a boost type thing. Im looking forward to the EQ on the GT-350 the most because the main feature in Fuller's words was "good mid and bass knobs." I would definitley buy it to get some tubey analog high gain sounds with a clean amp for some early Metallic type stuff. Seems to be like in the same type as the Electro Harmonix Metal Muff, which I heard is really good too.

Re: Fulltone's Next Pedal! GT-350

Distortion pedals usually sound like 'buzz city' on really clean amps, but the FDII does pretty well. I'm sure the OCD and GT-350 will sound great on amps that are already set at midgain.

All you guys that are looking for serious gain out of amps that aren't quite there......this GT-350 looks like the pedal for that. It seems expensive, until you realize that you own it for years, and can't live without it.
