As always, there seems to be two classes of comp fans:

The transparent sound reinforcement guys (thats me), and the Squash effect dudes (Dynacomp style fans).

Same with Delay: crisp Digital perfection, and analog dark/rough.


And as always, there is a time and a place for both. Back in the 80's, I quashed a lot. In my old age, I'm more about the clarity.

I agree with that. If I had my way I'd have 2 (or more) of everything.

I'd keep my super squashed DynaComp but add a super transparent comp.

Keep my DD20 and then add an analog delay...

I couldn't justify it right now but it would be fun.
