I've heard the Jazz bridge is a real sleeper PAF level pickup...

(I mean sleeper as in overlooked/underrated, not a snoozer)

Maybe Jolly will chime in? He's a Jazz advocate....Jazz pickup that is!

Which axe are you putting the Jazz N in? Your SG.

I've been using the Jazz N since the mid 1990's. It's by far my favorite neck pickup. It never gets muddy, is articulate as all get out, responds very well to high gain, and is just a joy to play funky chords with when clean. You're gonna love the way you sound, I guarantee it. :D Hey, that should be Seymour's new motto. :laugh2:

Re: Funny Lots Of Jazz Pickup Posts Today!

I was actually wondering about the Jazz BRIDGE perhaps for my Ibanez NDM1. I haven't really considered it very much, its by no means the top candidate, just curious since the jazz neck gets so much praise but no one ever mentions the bridge model.

Re: Funny Lots Of Jazz Pickup Posts Today!

seems like the jazz is the flavor of the week!

i agree with what erikh stated. its one of my favorite neck pickup. i love the jazz's ability of not being able to get woofy and muddy.

i have it in my strat with a custom bridge and a tele with the hot lead. while it was perfect in my strat. it was a tad too bright on my ash body/1-pc maple neck tele. i swapped the a5 for an a2 and i've been a happy camper ever since.

well, ever since lasted till artie gave me the idea of having a stag mag in the neck... bad boy he is.

A couple of days ago I decided to try to trade for a Jazz N to try in my SG because of all the problems I was having with the DMZ.....I also have a Brobucker coming and thought I could end up with a Jazz N and a Brobucker bridge? Don't know till I try it....Thing is,I own alot of guitars and my ears are always changing and I Like having different pickups to change..

I saw that trade post. Can't remember what you traded for it but I remember wanting to jump on it but then I remembered, I only have one Jazz and it's in my LP. ;) I really think you'll like the Jazz. I tried like mad to get it to go mud last night and it just wouldn't. That was through my little Crate GX-15. Gain was all the way up and bass was all the way up. Even though it was very warm sounding, the low E notes were still distinct, almost Slash like neck tone on the lower strings.

Erik....I traded Push To Shuv a PGB/C A5 Hybrid for his Jazz Zebra Neck...

I have a Jazz/59n A4 Hybrid in my Tokai and love it! I always have extra 59 pickups here at home so I May end up with another Hybrid? Maybe not right away though,as I seem to have this Dimarzio dialed in really well....It's cool to trade for something I don't have though also.
