Ok, i've got some cash laying around, and im looking for a good fuzz pedal to give me that muse kind of fuzz, i believe its a "square wave fuzz", anybody got any suggestions?
I second the notion for the seymour duncan tweak fuzz...I don't own one and I'm not a big fan of fuzz pedals, but from everyone that's tried one, it's the one to get!
The rattiest, nastiest fuzz I've come across is one of the old Maestro Fuzz pedals. It had a silver disc about the size of a CD with the switch in the middle and three knobs on the right side.
personally i like the Dunlop fuzz face. Most people dont. It is very muddy though on a neck pickup. so i use an overdrive pedal (marshall blues breaker 1) set to full tone and no overdrive. then i adjust to get what im looking for.
for me this is what I like.
For versitillity i would go tweek fuzz. for old school looking into the fultons i beleive. they make the 69 and 70 fuzz.
I tried the Fulltone 70 fuzz while I was in NYC, and I didn't care for it at all (but that's my opinion). The 3 best Fuzz pedals I tried were the ZVex Fuzz Factory, SD Tweak Fuzz (in it's price range atleast) and the EMMA ReezaFRATzitz.
But as for Muse, I'd go ZVex all the way (because that's what the guy himself has )

For value, I'd recommend the Tweak Fuzz. For overall tone, I'd say go for the Fuzz Factory. The Tweak Fuzz does do those massive Muse type tones though.
