Fuzzy sounding volume pedal

Hey guys....i have a Ernie Ball volume pedal....and when i use it while playing. It makes a fuzzy noise. Do i have a scratchy pot? Do i need a new pot?

Just get some electronics cleaner from the hardware store, spray it and work it back and forth for a bit.
