Fuzzzz in my forecast

Hi guys. I need some fuzz. I'm hoping for some advice & suggestions. I don't want a super fuzzy far out fuzz. I want a fat, thick tone with great sustain that will retain note definition. A nice clear fuzz if that even makes any sense. Believe it or not, the tone I'm looking for is like the fuzz in my garage band app. I like it quite a bit even though it isn't real. I only use it for headphone practice but it sounds great. If you have heard that new Clapton/ Windwood live stuff, that is very close to the tone I'm looking for. I was thinking of the Analogman sunface as I really like what he did with my TS-9. But he has a lot of options. I also feel like I would need a tone control too. Please suggest away. Ultimately I'll hit some shops and try before I buy, but maybe I can narrow the field with some help.

Check out a Basic Audio Foxey Lady. Up until I John (Lyons, owner of Basic Audio) to make me a custom pedal, this was my favorite silicon fuzz.

fuzz with definition, fat tone and sustain = voodoo labs superfuzz....
and im not saying that as a fanboy. Im a massive fuzz face nerd! I just think the voodoo fits yoru description much better. Its very tonally flexible and always retains its definition.

Sounds like you deff have to at least look into the Keeley Fuzzhead & Black Arts Toneworks Black Forest (OD / Fuzz) and then there is also the Fulltone Catalyst.

My 3 cents

;-)

I'm seeing a Fuzzface. I'm using a Swollen Pickle, but I never thought it to be "clear". Both are definitely worth a look into.

Modern fuzzes that can cover lot of ground and I like are:

Wampler Leviathan
Mad Professor Fire Red Fuzz
Xotic EWS Fuzz Drive

And, you have the mighty ProCo RAT that can came close to fuzz while delivering an outstanding sound.

The AstroTone was a nice sounding fuzz. I also feel that the Keeley Fuzz Head retains a lot of clarity but isn't just a fuzz face. It can do Ge/Si and also from OD tones to Fuzz. Great pedal.
