Apparently Jackson isn't making the Dinky in Inferno Red anymore and the Guitar Centers are clearing out existing stock to make room for new colors.

Great guitar for $299!

Please excuse the shoe - took a couple quick pics in the parking lot to send to a friend.

And, yes, it has the truss rod cover/trem arm/allen wrenches. TRC was off to find the right truss adjustment tool and left it off for the restring/setup.

Man, thats a sweet price! Ive been lusting for one but dont need one. But for that price... Sadly, the red is my least fav color tho...
Congrats on your score tho!!

Congrats on a good bargain! Where's that built and what kind of Duncans? Looks pretty sweet to me, why they would discontinue that colour I don't understand.

that price is ridiculously low! guitars here in my country don't even get lowered prices even though they're 2 years old! i've always wanted a DK2M, and it's still available at a guitar shop but for the regular price.

Guitars are Japanese, if I recall correctly.

The pickups are a TB-4 and a SH-2n, according to Jackson.

I have a white DK2M and it's a pretty decent guitar for the money. But I'd recommend that anyone buying one look it over really closely in person before buying. There were some problems with the neck pocket cut in some of them and the first one that I got had a split in the trem cavity area from a bridge post. The second guitar was fine, however.

Yup, JB/Jazz pair. 4-conductor wire so you can add push/pull pots or mini-toggle for tap/series-parallel...or a 5 way if you'd like. Stock with 3-way switch, Volume/Tone.

Made in Japan.

This one was super clean, super well built. Frets were surprisingly well done too I might add - that's why it left w/me. Didn't need anything - which most "new" guitars typically do.

Trem is a Jackson LFR. Decent. Not a huge fan of Floyds so any model is ok. Bought for use in an 80's gag band so it'll be great - something fun with a lotta bang for the buck.

i have the white version of that guitar and it came stock with 2 JB's. that is a flat out steal for that guitar. i paid 450ish for mine used. awesome guitar, i love it. i put an Invader in the bridge of it and its definitely a heavy metal guitar now. Great deal on yours though.

NOOOOO!!!!

I just bought a new guitar yesterday!
Ok, not a huge fan of red either (although I do love my red quilted top Washburn MG-122) but a DK2 with a MAPLE board for LESS than HALF what it goes for here?

I mean, COME ON!

Re: FYI - Jackson Dinky DK2M Inferno Red $299 @ Guitar Center

It was a nice surprise. Literally walked in with my 4-yr old to kill about 20 minutes waiting on my wife. It was close and somewhere to "walk".

Saw the guitar and the price tag was at eye-level on the wall. I'm actually a big fan of red guitars - have a few - so it was REALLY hard to pass up. NO intention of buying a thing but...ugh...walked by, turned around and took it off the wall, noodled a bit, put it back, told myself I didn't need any more guitars, walked by again, ugh, turned around again and took it off the wall for a solid overview - perfect, compared it to the still $899 priced white/black models - same, grabbed an employee and asked about the price discrepancy at which point I learned about the color clearance, told my son mommy was gonna kill daddy, rounded up the allen wrenches/trem arm and walked out the door just as the phone rang my wife was ready to go. Still here, still breathing, didn't get killed. :cool2:

Loved those DK2s when they were originally issued - original Duncans, alder body, compound maple neck, natural headstock. Cool stuff. Wasn't crazy about the inlays but I really like them now. Haven't had a Charvel/Jackson in the house for a long, long time.

Awesome deal, man! If I was in the proximity, I might'a just pulled the trigger myself. Totally jealous. Enjoy.

Re: FYI - Jackson Dinky DK2M Inferno Red $299 @ Guitar Center

I bought one of those in 2007. It was a looker, but turned out to be a real letdown.

JB and Jazz pickups. The JB was shrill, the Jazz had no balls. I repaced both, using a Crazy 8 bridge and Trembucker 1 neck. It got better, but not great.

The Floyd licensed bridge was awful! I might have kept it if they had used a real one.

Resale on it was a royal ream job. I got burned, lived and learned.

I bought one of the new Charvel San Dimas 1 guitars a couple months back. Now this one is a wiiner!

Re: FYI - Jackson Dinky DK2M Inferno Red $299 @ Guitar Center

hmm they had them for $400 the last time I was there...might have to stop by (they had black and red at this price)

also considering Jackson raised the price to $800 this year :laugh2:

I went to the guitar center near me and i saw that guitar. I plugged it into a Mesa Boogie Triple Rectifier solo head and the sound was amazing. I'm looking to get both the amp and guitar in about 3-5 months if they're still around

Re: FYI - Jackson Dinky DK2M Inferno Red $299 @ Guitar Center

man i wish i could get those Jacksons for that price up here... i'd buy one... they remind me of the mid 90's Jackson Performer Dinky's i use a lot
