G12-75 vs. V30

Re: G12-75 vs. V30

I find 75 a bit harsh too .. I like V30 much more.. they sound a bit more processed to me and got so much better mids and are louder and cutting! But it depends on the amp!
I have to say: My amp is known to love the V30s...

Re: G12-75 vs. V30

Just went from g12t75 to v30's.
The V30's blow them away in terms of clarity fatness/smoothness and agressive growl. g12t75 are not bad speakers at all but they have an emphasis on bass and treble like the eq is in a V shape. They shure do have good bottom end and grind but the V30 is the more musical speaker IMHO.

Now combine these 2 in a cab like Bogner does in an Ubershal cab and you will have a killer cab setup!

Re: G12-75 vs. V30

Maybe there's a reason that the 1960 AV cab with V30s cost more than the standard 1960 A cab with the 75 watters? I know that the V30s just blow away the sound of the 75s when I've compared the 2....I went with the AV V30 cab and I bought mine back in 1999,would never think of parting with this cab also!

Re: G12-75 vs. V30

I know both speakers are as common as a cold but I really don't like either of them. 25 watt greenbacks are the only way to fly for my needs

any diffenrence between the "high energy" V30s and common ones??
From what I've read "high energy" V30's can handle 75 watt's vs. the standard 30 watt V30's. I think?

I Like the Greenbacks and the G12H-30s also....Just don't care for the 75s and the 80s....Didn't care for the Neodyium speakers from Celestion either..
