WTB G12T-75 X2.
I've done nothing but lambast this G12t-75 speaker for years, I even gave away a full set onetime. Just recently I stumbled upon a clip of some dude trying out the G12t-75 against the G12K-100, the G12H-30 and the Vintage 30.
To be sure, the 30 was the best overall sounding speaker, but the 12h 30 seemed to have a sweeter singing lead sound, but not by much. The G12k-100 was fantastic for an articulate clean lead tone without any shrillness, but what really amazed me was the G12t-75. The G12-t75 on one hand had the most lackluster overall sound, but what really got me was this very percussive sound to it. that none of the other speakers had- its just super tight and like a gatlin gun with the punch sound from the low mids.
That got me to wanting to put together a G12t-75 cabinet with maybe a mix of the G12m-20/25/ Heritage Greenbacks cause they are the same sensitivity range.
I do still want to try the G12k-100, but even though the low end is massive and it thumps, it didn't seem to have that same percussion effect off the note, and while that isn't the end all-be-all of tone quest, its something I definitely want in at least one of my
