I think I have everything I need now... What do I do now?? LOL I just finished my new rig set up and I am totally in love with both the sound and ease of use!! Now I am still using a cheep Crate4x12 with celestions, but I am not in a huge hurry to upgrade the cabinet seeing the beating that this one has endured... Who knows, I may keep this cab and just throw some vintage 30s and maybe retolex it and throw some vintage looking grill on it. But anyways, HERE IT IS!

Wireless > Korg Tuner ->PEDALBOARD Wah > Volume (direct out to Boss tuner) > Whammy > Boss Noise Gate -> BACK TO RACK > GCX Looper (Midi Out to GROUND CONTROL on Pedal Board > Line 6 Roto Machine > MXR Phase 90 > Boss Flanger > Maxon OD-9 (tubescreamer) > Boss SD-1 -> TO PEAVEY XXX HEAD > FX LOOP OUT back to GCX > Boss DD-20 -> GCX OUT > G Major -> FX LOOP RETURN => CRATE 4x12

The pedal board was a 40x12 case I got from Hybrid I put 1" wood pieces under a 40x12 piece of Diamond plate which I had cut out for me, and drilled holes to route most of the power and signal cables under the board. ALL the pedal board cables, midi signals, and power for all the pedals are ran through a single PEDAL SNAKE. (I just orded the adapter to power the Whammy throu the snake but it isn't here yet) This means I can plug every thing in and be up and running in less than 4 minutes!! Very handy when sharing a stage with another band or two!! Now I just need 2 roadies to help me haul it every where!!!

And you do not want to know how many 16" and 24" cables I had to cut apart and solder angled plugs on one side!! I need to get pics of the back of the rack, I try to make it as organized as possible but it is still a nightmare in there!!

Oh, by the way, the little blue box on the pedal board is a tap tempo box I made myself. It controls the tempo of the delay on the DD-20.

That's quite a rig you got there. I'd like to do something similar, but I can't find a reason to seeing how I don't gig and my orange doesn't see a lot of playing time due to the volume.

cool setup. a guy i know wants to sell me his XXX and cab for 500. i really tried to like it but didnt know what to make of it. ended up with a 36 watt combo years later that i love to death! he still hasnt sold it =(

Actually I gig out every other weekend, I leave the rack at home and just use the footswitch that came with the amp for rehersals. The rack isn't too bad since it only holds pedals and a few light processors. It has some HEAVY DUTY wheels on it, and we don't play too many shows with a ton of stairs. Besides this gives me an excuse to actually make the **** singer help me load out!!. Moving this around isn't much harder than when I had my Fender Twin or my Mesa Nomad combo... Those two were so off-center, it was much harder on the back.

I really like the sounds of the XXX, I swapped out all the tubes with EH 6L6's and preamp tubes. I put a 12AT7 in slots 1 and 4 and that made the clean sound much better, I didn't break up. Plus when I use the boss SD-1 with the gain turned way down, it gets a great bluesy tone. The gain is a little too much on the amp, both lead channles I have the gain less than half way up or it gets really muddy sounding, and I always have the MAXON OD9 on with it as a clean boost to give is killer sustain. The only think I really don't like about the amp is the noise. I have the NS2 on the pedalboard which I can turn on or off to reduce feed back, and the noise gate on my G Major kills the buzzing when the over drives are on. That will have to do until I can afford a SOLDONO or BOGNER

i like rigs like this... i have a large rig that is basicly in storage these days since i've been bandless for a while... ya a roadie would come in handy... towards the end i had switched back to a 1x12 and a few pedals for ease of use....
