GAS got me again, amp this time :)

Finished a recab project I've been wanting to do for quite some time now.

This is a Sundown Artist 100w amp, 2x6550 powersection, 5-12AX7 preamp. The speaker has 2x10" Eminence, one Ragin' Cajun and one Delta Demon. It's a perfect combo of speakers, covers a lot of sonic ground.

The cleans on the amp are very Ampeg-like, or like a hot Bassman. Full, round and clear, very tight bottom. Not a lot of top end sparkle like a Fender or Vox, but very defined without any ice-pick. I'm happy as a clam and playing my head off with this setup. My Esquire just pops and spanks through it and the Les Paul screams and thumps perfectly.

:burnout: :smokin:

Looks like a really awsome setup. I've never gotten allong with 6L6 or 6550 power sections, but I may have to give them a try again. Congrats!

Thanks guys! There's a couple things I still need to sort out. I'll provide clips once she's humming like I expect :D

that's a beautiful set up ... I'm a sucker for blondes!

some of the Emi speakers look interesting, but quite a few are really high powered

Re: GAS got me again, amp this time :)

Yup, these two Emi's are pretty high-powered. I was surprised, 2two 10"ers can handle this 100w amp easily. And for the price, you can't beat 'em.
