Who wants to buy it for me? :)

Re: GASing for a Hamer!

I'll buy it if you let me keep it for a few years to break it in first:friday:

Gotta love them Hamers!

Re: GASing for a Hamer!

Ha ha, yeah and then the day you are meant to send it to me, the guitar gets lost in the post right? Lol.

This guitar is a "Play Me!" guitar. Plus it's a USA Hamer which many people on here rave about, for only £1,500 including shipping & tax.

An Ibanez Jem costs that in the UK and there's no competition.

No. I would hand deliver it....I've always wanted to see England!

I've got a Hamer Sunburst Archtop. Love it to death. It's all mahogany (nice cherry finish). It was one of two prototypes. One was done in mahogany and the other with a maple cap, according to the folks at Hamer I spoke to. There's a pic in the "Wall of Fame" section on the Duncan website. It's a few pages in (Page 19, top middle).

Ha ha, ok then you can buy it for "me". Lol.

Your Hamer sounds beautiful! but i had a quick check on the Duncan WoF & it only has 13 pages, have they re-arranged them?

Steve,

Sorry about that. There were 19 pages this morning when I checked. Must be something up with the website. If it doesn't return, I'll try and send you a pic.

Re: GASing for a Hamer!

It's probably a good time to buy a Hamer. As long as Joel Danzig is still actively involved in the company.

Re: GASing for a Hamer!

I've been gassing for a Hamer Superstrat for the better part of 15 years or so.

Re: GASing for a Hamer!

The best deal you'll get on a USA Hamer is used. For some reason, Hamers don't hold their value as much as they should. You can save a ton of money by buying used. In my personal opinion, and this is what I'm doing, the only way I'll buy a Hamer brand new is if it's going to be a custom order.

That being said, I will come right out and say that USA Hamers are among the best guitars in the world. I've owned a fair share of them (13 I think) and each one was a stellar intstrument. Depending on your style of music, there's a Hamer out there somewhere that will fit you to a T.

Re: GASing for a Hamer!

FMIC (Fender) did buy Kaman (Hamer's now a Kaman company) which is why I said in an earlier post that it's probably a good time to buy a Hamer.

I have no idea how much impact this will have on Hamer. It might not have any for years. But if FMIC's fingers in the pie makes in undesirable for Jol Danzig to stay with Hamer, (I hate to predict what'll happen)

Re: GASing for a Hamer!

I wonder if that will boost the resale on Pre-Fender Hamer's?

It might. But I'm surprise that pre-Kaman Hamers aren't worth more.

Pre-FMIC Fenders are starting to bring in a lot of money, but I think that's mostly collectors who don't know how many drooling dogs the CBS Fender made.

Re: GASing for a Hamer!

Why aren't the Hamer's worth more than they are (when sold as used obviously), is it because they don't have the prestige Gibson & Fender have with the players who've played a GLP or Strat?

Having said that, PRS seem to do pretty well & USA Hamer's are as good as their high end guitars. PRS haven't had the number of "famous" players Gibson & Fender have had either.

Strange, good for us though!

IMO, it's a combination of who plays them, and that Fender and Gibson have always had better distribution networks, and heavy handed marketing tactics.

I don't really want my guitars to be worth a lot personally. I just want guitars to be guitars, not investments.
