Gateway P-7811FX Laptop for Recording?

I was wondering how well the Gateway P-7811FX Laptop would do for recording?
It's a slightly upgraded version of the 6860.

I'm just getting into recording but don't want to go the mac route, what would be the best software to use for recording on this computer?
Would Pro Tools have a compatability issue with 64 bit Vista? and if so what are my options?

That will work right out of the box. For more tracks you would want to get a faster external drive, which you should probably have anyway. I'm not up on PC DAW software but I can't stand Pro Tools.
