Gator ABS/Moulded cases, are they roadworthy?

I have wooden Warwick cases with me but they are a little heavy & not a glove fit for my PRS or strat styled guitar, plus they only have two clamps & neither are lockable with a key, I also need a new case to fit an LP copy as well. These gator cases are looking good on paper, good fit-wise but are they durable?

Sometimes(rarely) I need to leave the guitar in the car, which can get quite oven like on a sunny day. So I was wondering if these would also help out in those scenarios or are gig bags better for that instance.

I like the fact that these have three clamps, one of them being lockable. The store near me has the XL neck version that I was able to check. The interior foam/padding is hard enough to prevent the guitar from moving around. Otherwise overall its pretty basic. I don't quite need flight cases, i don't have any international gigs & would prefer take trains to travel around the counrty lol

The kind of things it would have to protect against would be, maybe bumps against hard objects(metal, concrete, wood), 1-2feet drops(unlikely to happen but still) and to some degree heat. I have seen the video of the gator guys testing it out with a hammer, that makes it look good enough but still would like to know opinions of others that had these or using these.

I have never had a problem with any Gator cases. I use a few of their molded cases, and a ton of their gigbags. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

I have ordered the les paul shape GC LPS deluxe model, should arrive by Monday. I hope the ABS is harder than behringer pedals :chairshot

Mincer have you been using the PE material cases of theirs or ABS ones though? Their molded flight ATA cases use PE, while the regular ones aren't I think.

I have a few of each for when I was driving all over the country. They were tossed in the back of a van with the amps and rad cases. Other than a few surface scratches, both types look new, still. This was pretty extreme conditions though. Now I am using their Pro-Go gig bags for my 2 main guitars. Those are wonderful- light, and they have a ton of padding.
