Gavin Rossdale Humbucker? Can Someone Shed Some Light?

Hi everyone! I've been on the hunt for a humbucker that is in one of the coolest looking Strats I have ever seen. Gavin Rossdale of Bush was using two Fender Custom Shop "Relic" Strats (black and white) that were loaded with a single humbucker and a single volume knob. I've been on the phone and making every effort I can to find this special pickup... I contacted Fender and was told it was either a Seymour Duncan or custom wound DiMarzio. I wanted to post this in hopes that maybe someone has handled one of these strats or knows a bit of backstory on it. I haven't seen these strats at all after his performance here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=osVIAFfCIiM

Can you guys help?

Thanks, Austin :)

As much as he uses fuzz pedals, I would think that it would have to be fairly low output.

I'm imagining he reliced it by playing really hard during hard touring. Looks like a chromed brass cap that's been worn down.

Those covers can go onto any kind of humbuggie, but I will leave that to the pickup guys.

I'm sure I read somewhere that he had a JB in his Jazzmaster, I've no idea about his Strat though.

if you're simply concerned with how it looks, get a cover like that and put it on whatever pickup you like.

a search on the Duncan page shows that he is associated with:

and

I'd call Duncan on Monday and get with someone in cust serv. try Scott Marcaeu...he's always sitting there with nothing to do. lol! j/k anyway, if he doesn't know, he'll know who to refer you to or who to ask.

based on what Duncan has his name associated with, I can see the JB being a fair possibility.
