W/O those damned Carvin pickups and a ton of TLC, Id play it!!! With the right stuff that could be made to be one hell of a player, ar at bare minimum a kick ass conversation piece!!!

Ah come on man...it's got that CUSTOM look just like it is!

Just think how versatile it'd be...you'd have all your bases covered in one guitar.

Everything from Charlie Christian to Ned Tugent...all in one ax!

Lew,
you are truly a MAD MAN!!! I am serious though...with some pickups and some TLC it would be pretty cool...maybe a pair of Seths and a vintage rail...Im sure with all the switches and knobs on that thing I could wire it to get some crazt stuff going on!

Re: Gearjoneser: YOU'VE GOTTA HAVE THIS 40's GIBSON!

Then grab it my man...it's under $300. and I doubt it'll go much higher. What do you make of it? Is it really a 40's Gibson? I think it might be with that inlay down the back of the neck. Might be one of those from WWII without a truss rod? Shortage of steel and all. I dunno what to make of it... :smack: Is it gold????

The last thing is another project at this point. Im not really sure what to make of it at all...I think i might be a 40's Gibson...but im not sure. It does appear to be all gold, but Im sure that is is a refin! If I didn't have so many things going on right now I'd snatch it up, but if I did that right now it would just sit and wait on me.

Haha... the guy lives in bridgeport, so I bet you that guitar is BEAT :laugh2:

After checking the feedback, the guy looks really legit. Looks like a cool guitar to me, if it didn't look like mission control.

Yep...that's what I was thinking. :laugh2:

There's ... something ... odd .... about that guitar

Re: Gearjoneser: YOU'VE GOTTA HAVE THIS 40's GIBSON!

I dunno, looks cool to me, I would have snapped it up, but they don't ship outside the US.

I like the retro technology look...

Re: Gearjoneser: YOU'VE GOTTA HAVE THIS 40's GIBSON!

something dosent smell right to me... i've seen too many headstocks with really dodgy decals stuck on lol

i dunno, it just looks a bit odd..

I agree. I thought maybe it was a old KAY or something. That is definately not an early 40's WWII era Gibson lofo. If it was it would look like script...not like today's Gibson logo.

This post was a joke! I'm not recommending anyone buy this guitar!

I like the BIG cutout on the back panel, NOT. That looks original, NOT. But it's so nicely blended, you can hardly tell, NOT.

From the front it looks OK. But the back really throws me. I have no idea if it's a 40's Gibson or not. But I do know that not all Gibsons appreciate in value. It could be.

Re: Gearjoneser: YOU'VE GOTTA HAVE THIS 40's GIBSON!

Cutting big holes in the front and back of an old Gibson (If it is a Gibson) definiately hurts the value.

Re: Gearjoneser: YOU'VE GOTTA HAVE THIS 40's GIBSON!

Ya know, if that thing was stock, it would straight up suck......but, with the addition of those 24 pole Carvin pickups, someone got that beater back on track! Ha Ha

Also funny is that your fingers don't have the ability to type Ted Nugent. LOL

Re: Gearjoneser: YOU'VE GOTTA HAVE THIS 40's GIBSON!

Is it a Gibson...............

OR a Dillion Goldtop after Butnut got a hold of it!!!! :) :) :burnout:

Re: Gearjoneser: YOU'VE GOTTA HAVE THIS 40's GIBSON!

I'd call that guitar the Flash Gordon signature model.

Gibson never made a headstock anything like that. Looks like an ES-something-or-other (or what's left of one). Hopefully it's a Kay or something. The large opening in the back is nice...you could put your cords, pedals..yer lunch in there. Maybe some dry ice...that'd be a cool effect. Smoke coming out the f-holes while you played Nuge licks. They had to cut the opening so they could glue (or velcro, or nail or whatever) a center block to hold the stoptail and ABR and all those pickups. Poor thing.
