Generalized question I know but... (noiseless P/U content)

Most noiseless pickups are really humbuckers, with the second coil remote enough from the magnetic field that it really doesn't add much to the signal, right?

Also, as far as hum canceling, the two coils can be in series or in parallel. So long as they're wound (or just wired) in opposite directions they will continue to hum cancel,, right?

So.

I was wondering. Which sounds better? Series or parallel?

Reason I'm asking is because the Fender gen4 Noiseless in my MIM Tele (a mod) sounds louder arguably clearer, split rather than with both coils connected. I put that down to the extra ohms and Henries of the second coil in series tending to muffle the signal a little.

You might be hearing more treble when split, which, to older ears (IDK how old you are, but I think I'm getting there), brighter=louder.

I don't know if you can answer that without taking the win into consideration. For normal PAF-types, I like series better. For super hot pickups, I like parallel better.

Some stacks are wired as a negative coil operation. So the main coil by itself is more powerful than the overall stacked configuration.
