Sorry for the crappy celly pic, just in from FedEx

Up top we got a Twin Reverb 1x15 cabinet from Newellamps.com, fingerjointed pine and all that goodness. It's going to house my '69 Dual Showman Reverb chassis and the 15" Weber California I currently have in my Hot Rod Deville.

And the cab on bottom, well, that's an open back 1x15 extension cabinet. It's going to house the other 15" Weber California as soon as those guys down at Weber get off their ass and ship it to me.

Life is good :D will post completed pics as soon as the aforementioned guys get off their aforementioned asses and mail me my god damn aforementioned speaker.

Looks cool. It will definitely be loud!

Before you bust up on WeberVST too quickly, how long has your order been on their books?

Re: GENTLEMEN! Behold!

He makes nice looking cabs. Eventually, I want to put a Super Champ XD into one of his 1-12 cabs with a G12H30.

A little over 2 weeks, still within the 14 working days they quote, but still... it's torturous havin the cabs and not the speaker

Re: GENTLEMEN! Behold!

I've never played through 15 inch speakers. What differences are there in tone compared to 12 inch speakers?

a bit more bottom, but also they feel a little slower and darker. If you want defintion cut and presence then usually 10s are the go, 12s are kinda the standard, and 15s are the next step. I prefer 2 twelves for guitar generally because guitars main voice is not way down in the depths, but 15s do sure feel good. Better for big clean tones in my opinion, fat jazzy kind of sounds. They do also have the ability to do justice to an epic fuzz tone tho. Fantastic if you are not going to bother with a bass player in your band too.
Its all horses for courses as they say. For modern metal kind of sounds, i reckon 12s in a closed back cabinet is more the way to go. Closed back cabs give a nominal 6db boost in the bass frequencies, so choosing a 15 is really more of a fat retro vibe than purely adding more bottom end. I love them, but i love 10s and 12s also.

Re: GENTLEMEN! Behold!

I also enjoy a nice 15" speaker. Just something about them that sounds great. Your description is very accurate IMHO. They just feel cool.

Re: GENTLEMEN! Behold!

They're not as bassy as people make em out to be, they're just a little mellower than 12's

and thanks for the kind words fellas. I got an email from Weber saying my order had shipped, so looks like this should all come together somewhere between saturday and tuesday, I'm guessing.

Re: GENTLEMEN! Behold!

I've got a reconed JBL D130F that is still waiting for a vibroverb build. It's a really awesome speaker. Those Californias are supposed to be clones of the JBL's. Which dome did you get? I think you're going to love them once you get 'em broken in a few hours.

Re: GENTLEMEN! Behold!

I got the paper one

I absolutely love em, like I said I've had one of em in the deville for awhile and it's just... perfect for everything I do
