george thorogood and the destroyers

Re: george thorogood and the destroyers

I should know the answers to your questions, but don't.

He plays a single cutaway, hollow body guitar with P-90's. That much I do know... who can help out with more info?

Re: george thorogood and the destroyers

He always used a Gibson single cut hollowbody. I'm not sure if it was an ES-135 or not.

Re: george thorogood and the destroyers

ok not just on "who do you love". just in general what guitar/ amp (and pedals, if he used any)

Re: george thorogood and the destroyers

They had a piece on him in one of the guitar rags a few years ago. He uses Gibson ES-125s (thin body, single cutway, two p-90's). If I remember correctly, he liked using Fender Bandmaster amps. I don't recall anything specific about pedals.

Re: george thorogood and the destroyers

do they make bandmasters anymore? are they rare, and what other amps come close?

Re: george thorogood and the destroyers

i know that he got the guitar in a pawn shop. he said it was terrible, and the sound was amazing. he allways used it on his recordings and live. im 95% sure its an es-175...

the amps i have no idea

Re: george thorogood and the destroyers

Re: george thorogood and the destroyers

yes well, i would like to know if anyone else maybe can substantiate or refute 3tone's argument that george thorogood used a fender bandmaster, and the rarity of this amp, and also what amps are close to the sound of it.
