Get paid to own a new guitar every 3 mo.

Yeah, I agree with you guys about wheelin n dealin not being
TOO profitable. It usually only works when you find ultra cheap
gear, then find a perfect profile buyer, who gives you what it's worth.

That's why you always see ads that say "no dealers please"
People get sick of listing an amp for $800 and having some
bonebrain call and offer $400.

Not to change the subject, but is it possible to get a Gibson LP Classic for under a grand?

It's not uncommon to see a Classic 60 go for $900-$1100

I think it's a better buy to find a LP Standard for $1000-$1300

One thing I do nowadays is to go on Ebay and sort for
"ending first" on electrics, amps, and parts/acces.

When the auctions are almost ended, you can swoop down on auctions where the high bidder isn't watching the auction
and really score bigtime. Every once in awhile, a great piece
is nearing it's end, with no reserve, and a lower than average bid.
I almost got a Schecter C-1 Classic in flame burgundy for $225
yesterday. My trigger finger was too slow and I missed it by a minute! Dang! I coulda played it for a few weeks, plus made
$175 off it.

Re: Get paid to own a new guitar every 3 mo.

eBAY does not have any more good deals.

Those corporate buttheads from Guitar Center and other stores monitor eBAY and then buy out the good stuff and place their corporate junk - BLOGING eBAY with it.

Re: Get paid to own a new guitar every 3 mo.

I make more money doing this than I do at my job, go figure. I grossed 4 grand in the past 60 days buying and selling guitars. I average about $300 profit on each sale. Sometimes up to 3 per week.

will this strategy work in Germany or Europe for that matter?

Re: Get paid to own a new guitar every 3 mo.

I've gone through seven guitars in the past year doing just that. I usually use the HC trading pages so I don't have to pay for the ad. I have always sold the guitar for what I paid, so I didn't make any money. It did allowed me to find what I do and don't like in a guitar. Thae last two I sold on Ebay, I lost alittle on one.

I'm finding that people lately don't want to pay what your asking, they'd rather low ball it.

Is ebay economy just sucking right now? It's been hard trying to sell some things.

Re: Get paid to own a new guitar every 3 mo.

I dunno. I think there's certain guitars or brands that always have interested buyers, and some that are just luke-warm. A lot of it has to do with your description. I always try to write description with some excitement in it, just like a salesman does.

I'm really getting sick of running into these 'GCrep' auctions. I don't even wait for their slow picture format to load! GC has giant locations in every damn city in the country. I wish they'd stay off of Ebay. They're more of an annoyance than anything! Is there any way to sort with all the GC auctions removed??? Right now, I sort from highest to lowest in US currency only, so I avoid the annoying UK auctions.

Re: Get paid to own a new guitar every 3 mo.

It's all about knowing what to look for, like GJ said, there are going to be brands that are always in favor with people and there's always someone looking to buy. It also helps to keep a current knowledge of value of instruments. To be honest, I don't know why I do so well at it, but I do.
