Gettin some Ants soon, but which guitar?

Soon, I'll be getting both Ant series. The Texas Hots and the Surfers, But which guitar should I put them in? Should the Tx Hots go in my homemade 62RI and the Surfers go in my Squire 57RI? or the other way 'round? Thanks for your help.

They're both alder, ones a 62RI so its got a rw fretboard, the others a 57RI so its got a one peice maple neck. Both have pretty much vintage style everything...tuners, trem, saddles.

Thats what I was thinking man, but I have this overwhelming desire for it to be the other way around. I guess I'll just try out and see what I like

But then both of them would sound somewhat similar. If you were to go with the ant2's in the maple guitar for the "crunched glass" and bright tones, and texas hots in the rosewood strat (for the srv stuff, rounder and that does not mean worse) you'd have 2 different types of strats. Al least that's what I would do.

I agree. Seems to make sense putting the brighter SURFERS in the guitar with the rosewood fingerboard, altho mine are in my 57 RI Strat...one piece maple neck.

I didn't have a spare rosewood fingerboard Strat to try them in...

The SURFER'S are my absolute favorite Duncan Strat Pickups!

Haha i first read the title of this thread as you getting some "ants", and i started thinking why would you be posting about getting insects on the pickup forum..... :smack:

no need to second guess conventional wisdom, and I'd bet they'll still sound and feel different.
