Hello everyone!
I own a B.C. Rich Warlock IT Special Edition, the guitar is pretty old (9 or 10 year) and have been played a lot. So, it's got a lot of scratches and looks used. The guitar has a pretty cool looking paint job on the front, it has been painted with spray cans over the guitars original finish and hasn't been lacquered what so ever so it just erased off on the areas my hand stays over the years, and has a lot of scratches on it too.
So, I am planning a to refinish the guitars body, level the frets, replace all the little things like the pickup frames, knobs, all the little bolts... that sort of thing, maybe even a new tune-o-matic bridge, the old one's also not looking very good. In other words, recondition it, make it look like a new one.
I want a nice flat/matte/satin black finish on it, but I've no experience with guitar painting so I need the help of experienced people on this one.
I don't own any painting equipment, so I guess I'll have to go with spray cans. Or are spray cans not recommended for guitar painting? So what is the best way to go about it?
What kind of sprays should I buy (some good quality brands and spray types?)
A detailed step by step guide would be much appreciated.
This is what it looked like when it was new
So, this is what I'm going for.
This is not exactly a cheap guitar, So the result must be good.
As I see it, if it's not what I want in the end, I can just sand it off and start over, right?
Here Are some photos of what it looks like now:

I might even consider remaking the current paint job(or maybe something else), If I manage to find someone with good painting skills. If so, when in the process should the paint job be done? But in this case, it would also cost me quite some money if the finish does not look good in the end and I decide to sand it all off and start it over. If not, a good looking satin black is still nice.
Thanks a lot!
